A small family-run restaurant on Bondgate Without, opposite the Playhouse, run by Gary McDermott and Claudia Mazareanu. There is one menu: a long tasting menu at dinner and a shorter one at lunch, cooked from whatever is in season or was preserved from the season before, some of it over fire. Bookings are taken through the restaurant's online booking diary only, never by phone, and dinner needs card details; the restaurant charges a cancellation fee inside 72 hours. Guests arrive at 6.30pm for drinks, with dinner from 7pm. It takes tables of up to eight, and no children under 12. The restaurant says it is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
