The first Rockfish, opened here in 2008 and now one of a run of them along the Devon and Dorset coast. It sits on the South Embankment looking straight over the river at the ferries and the crabbing lines on the quay, which is why people ask for a window seat. The fish is landed in Brixham and prepared each morning, the format is simple fried and grilled seafood, and there is a takeaway counter as well as the restaurant. Dogs are welcome inside. The restaurant gives its hours as every day, 12 to 9pm, and books through its own website; in summer the parking outside on the Embankment is limited to two hours.
