800 Years of History, One Village
The Talbot family held Malahide Castle for nearly 800 years, through wars, plantations, and political upheaval. Today the 260-acre parkland is the green lung of the community, and the castle itself offers guided tours of its medieval great hall and Victorian drawing rooms.
The village grew up around the castle but has long since outgrown it. Malahide's restaurant scene is one of the strongest on Dublin's northside, and the coastal walk to Portmarnock is one of the finest flat walks in the county.
