About

A yew hedge maze on Rissington Road with about half a mile of gravel paths, and a puzzle on top: fourteen clues around the paths let you crack a rebus and find the golden dragonfly in the round house at the centre. The centrepiece was designed and made by Kit Williams, the artist who wrote Masquerade in 1975 and buried a golden hare for readers to find; the owners say they were unsuccessful Masqueraders who asked him to help. Average time is 20 to 50 minutes. Time slots are limited and sold only on the day from the kiosk window, with no online or phone booking, and on bank holidays they can sell out by mid-afternoon. No toilets or cafe on site, and the narrow gravel paths are not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Dogs on a lead are allowed.
