About
A covered Victorian food market trading since 1788, run by Cork City Council, and one of the oldest municipal markets in Europe. Stalls sell local cheeses, fish, meats and the Cork specialities of drisheen and spiced beef, and the Farmgate Café looks down over the floor from the gallery. Queen Elizabeth II's 2011 visit here made global news.
