Accessibility

Town Centre

The town centre is compact and largely flat, with wide footpaths on Main Street and New Street. The High Street area can be busy with foot traffic in summer.

National Park

Killarney House and Gardens and the paths around Ross Castle and the Muckross House grounds are largely level and surfaced, with accessible parking; Torc Waterfall has a short steep approach and steps to the upper falls. Knockreer and the lakeshore paths are gentle but can be muddy after rain.

Muckross House

Muckross House has step-free access to the ground floor and accessible parking; contact the house for lift access to upper floors.

Station

Killarney railway station on Park Road is accessible; pre-arrange assistance with Iarnrod Eireann ahead of travel.

For venue-level access contact each venue directly. The park's lakeshore and woodland paths are mostly unpaved, so check conditions after wet weather.

ATMs & Banking

Main Street and New Street banks

Main Street, New Street and College Street

Bank ATMs

Bank ATMs cluster along Main Street, New Street and College Street in the town centre (AIB and Bank of Ireland), with more in the larger supermarkets.

Bike Rental

Killarney bike hire

Several town-centre shops hire bikes by the day for the National Park loops (Ross Castle, Muckross, the Muckross peninsula and the old Kenmare road are largely traffic-free). Bikes are also the usual way to do the Gap of Dunloe loop by the Kate Kearney's Cottage end. Book ahead in peak summer.
