The Wainwright
Lake Road, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 5BZ
About
A real-ale pub on Lake Road. Its own site says it was the old Four in Hand, refurbished over the winter of 2014 to 2015 and reopened at the end of April 2015, that it keeps up to eight real ales, all from Cumbrian breweries, and that it has oak floors throughout because it is dog friendly. CAMRA's West Cumbria branch made it runner-up for its Pub of the Year in 2016, and The Great Outdoors magazine gave it a silver in its 2020 UK pub of the year awards, both according to the pub. The pub says it aims to suit both the casual tourist and the committed user of the fells. The pub's site does not publish food hours or a booking route.
