The town's most famous food name. The O'Farrell family have been making semi-soft cow's-milk cheese on their farm near Carrigaline since 1988, originally from the milk of their own Friesian herd. The cheese is made with vegetarian rennet and no artificial additives, has picked up a string of national and international awards, and turns up on cheeseboards and in delis across Cork and beyond. Look for the natural round, the smoked, and the flavoured versions.
