Half Day: the Planned Town and the Quay
A relaxed half day on foot through the planned Georgian town and out to the harbour, with coffee, history and seafood. Ideal if you have a morning before a climb or a longer drive.

The Octagon and the Mall
Walk the eight-sided Octagon and the tree-lined Malls either side of the canalised Carrowbeg, reading the planned-town design in the streets.

Walk the spur out to Westport Quay
Take the greenway spur down to the 18th-century harbour, with Croagh Patrick coming into view across Clew Bay.

Full Day: the Greenway and the Reek
A full day of the two big outdoor draws, the Great Western Greenway and Croagh Patrick, finished with music in town. A proper Mayo day out, weather permitting.

Lunch and drive to Murrisk
Lunch back in town, then drive the R335 west to the Murrisk car park at the foot of Croagh Patrick.

Climb Croagh Patrick
Tackle the Reek from Murrisk, around three to four hours return, for the Clew Bay panorama from the summit. Boots and a waterproof are essential.
